Michelle made community consultation the hallmark of representing Scarborough Southwest

Michelle championed Oakridge neighbourhood to be added for the new Toronto Police pilot Neighbourhood Officer Program that puts officers walking our community every day for 4 years

Michelle ensured that Scarborough Southwest’s Samuel Hearne and Oakridge schools were among the first to be upgraded under the City’s Vision Zero and school safety program

Michelle brought public transit funding with the renewal of the award-winning Victoria Park Station and the complete transformation of Kennedy Station currently underway

Michelle moved forward critical water infrastructure projects to prevent basement flooding and also ensured our community is prioritized for continued renewal of water infrastructure

Michelle is a champion of our public libraries and secured funding for the full renovation of Eglinton Square Public Library

Michelle has brought funding for our community centres with a new community kitchen and arena facilities at Don Montgomery Community Centre

Michelle loves parks and green spaces and has completed 10 full park upgrades – Clairlea Park and Glen Shephard slated for 2019

Michelle has improved our public spaces with 6 mural projects and by installing new benches, bus shelters and litter bins across the ward

Michelle worked with community residents in every neighbourhood to improve traffic safety with the installation of stop signs, traffic signals, speed reductions, and “watch your speed” signs

Michelle has used her role as the Mayor’s Advocate for the Innovation Economy to bring new tech manufacturing jobs to Scarborough Southwest
